The Historic Old Bermuda Inn

Updated: May 6, 2020

This charming Bed and Breakfast is haunted by the spirit of Martha Mesereau.

Martha and William Mesereau built this estate in 1632. Forty-eight years later the Mesereau's charming life was disrupted when William was called to duty for the Civil War and had to leave his wife waiting for his return in their beloved home. Unfortunately Mr. Mesereau didn't come back from the war and widowed Martha was doomed to mourn the loss of her love for eternity.

Poltergeist activity and apparitions have become a part of normal life for the Inn's staff. One frequent phenomenon is the sighting of Martha's silhouette standing at the window of her bedroom, where she stood vigil every night waiting for her husband's return. Despite the efforts of several hired electricians, the chandelier that hangs in the first floor always has one light illuminated after being turned off. A portrait of Martha that hangs in the inn's hall spontaneously caught fire one day.

The Inn was visited by a locally famed paranormal investigation crew, Real Hauntings. With help of their investigative gear, they collected evidence of a paranormal presence that seemed to be intentionally following them during their visit. Doors shut around them, chills went down their spines, a whisper taunted them to "listen", and photographs captured orbs in the house.

You can make a special reservation at the Inn and conduct your very own paranormal investigation!

Rooms start at $80 a night.
